Join us at 6:30 pm on January 21st. Wait! What? …. Isn’t that the weekend of the inauguration?! Why, yes it is, and we’ve got the perfect antidote to what’s going on and great way for you to finish your Saturday.
Our film for that night is “9500 Liberty“, an inspiring story of a community’s response to the racism and bigotry fed and fueled by a demogogue’s blog (sound familiar?) Come get reinvigorated – join us for the film and a lively discussion of ways we can fight for justice.
Our movies for this year will show on Saturday nights and begin at 6:30 with havdalah.
On 2/18 we will show “The Lives of Others” nominated for and winner of multiple awards. This beautifully made movie is about Stasi agents spying the residents of East Berlin residents but it explores the role of surveillance along with the impossibility of objectivity.March’s movie is the classic, “Do the Right Thing on 3/18 and will provide stimulus for a conversation about racism, and responses to racial tensions.
We have a bonus film this year, in honor of Rabbi. On 4/29 we‘ll show “Life of Brian”. No explanation needed. Maybe we’ll have a British bands dance party instead of a discussion! We’ll let you know 🙂
See you at the movies!
