The Feast of Weeks

Celebrated seven weeks after Passover, Shavuot combines two major religious observances: the grain harvest of the early summer and the giving of the Torah on Mount Sinai seven weeks after the exodus from Egypt. One of the three pilgrimage festivals of ancient Israel, Shavuot ties the giving of the first fruits of the harvest with the covenant between God and Israel and receiving of Divine Law.

On Shavuot, it is it is customary to eat dairy foods.  You’ll find some reasons and recipes HERE.
